How to select bellows compensator

Bellows compensator is also called expansion joint, or expansion joint. The utility model is composed of a corrugated pipe (an elastic element) that constitutes the working main body, an end pipe, a bracket, a flange, a conduit and other accessories. It belongs to a compensation element. Utilize the effective expansion and deformation of the bellows of its main body to absorb the size changes of pipelines, conduits, containers, etc. caused by thermal expansion and cold contraction, or compensate the axial, transverse and angular displacement of pipelines, conduits, containers, etc. It can also be used for noise reduction and vibration reduction. It is widely used in modern industry. For heat supply, in order to prevent deformation or damage of the pipeline due to thermal elongation or temperature stress when the heat supply pipeline heats up, it is necessary to set bellows compensator on the pipeline to compensate the thermal elongation of the pipeline, so as to reduce the stress on the pipe wall and the force acting on the valve or support structure.

Corrugated pipe compensator adopts rectangular section with rounded shape, and a single expansion joint in the pipeline bears two-dimensional displacement. The elbow pipe composed of two expansion joints can withstand three-dimensional displacement. Rectangular round metal corrugated expansion joints are available in full height and half height types. According to the flue size and stress strain requirements, users can select multiple corrugated expansion joints.

1. After the user selects a suitable bellows compensator according to the thermal displacement of the pipe system, at least the flow medium in the pipe, the design pressure of the flue gas and air duct, the maximum temperature during operation, the waveform (full height 216 mm, half height 108 mm) and wave number (single wave number of a single ripple does not exceed 6 waves) selected for the overall dimensions (length and width) of the cross section of the flue gas and air duct must be provided to facilitate the structural design and manufacturing of the bellows compensator.

2. Maximum allowable expansion per wave: full height △ α= ± 24mm half height △ α= ±12mm。

3. Ash baffle: it can not be used for air duct or pipe with little dust, but it should be used for flue with much dust.

4. In order to reduce the number of wave nodes of corrugated pipe, 50% cold drawing shall be considered.

5. Bellows compensator is applicable to situations where the sectional area is less than 4.6 square meters and one side of the overall dimension of the flue is less than 1.5 m but more than 0.6 mm. Standard full height corrugated pipe compensator is applicable to all flue ducts.
